Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I write a letter for healing?

If you have something you have been unable to say face to face—involving either something that is challenging or words of praise you have not shared—you have reason for a letter.

A letter for healing allows you to begin to heal whether you share your letter or simply “put your heart” (and thoughts) on paper for your own satisfaction.

What does a letter for healing look like? How do I write it?

Who would I write a letter for healing to?

Anyone you have unresolved issues with.  Someone to whom you have something to say that has remained unspoken—a parent, a child, a friend, an enemy, a pet—there are no limits.

Why are you creating the “Letters to ..." series?

We have both been deeply affected by the twists and turns in our own relationships.  We found the writing process to be a valuable means of opening doors to understanding and reframing relationships in a different light.

We want to give others the same opportunity to experience the healing that letter writing can provide.   By sharing the stories of those who contribute, we are all able to appreciate others’ journeys and expand our own healing.

How do I submit my letter?
