Tell Me More

In 2006, we - Sharon Alworth and Bonnie Birnam - had the dream of using the lost art of letter writing as a way for others to experience the healing that writing letters provided us.  Thus was born the book Letters to Fathers from Daughters: A Pathway to Healing and Hope.

We are now creating a guidebook, Putting Your Heart on Paper:   A Guide to Writing Letters for Healing, to help others step through the process and experience the success, the healing, the satisfaction, that can come from the process of identifying and working through the emotions and actions surrounding the sometimes thorny, sometimes thrilling, situations in our lives.

Our Mission

Our vision is to give voice and support to those who are on the path to healing and to those who wish to express gratitude-for direction in learning life's lessons, for love shared, for difficulties overcome, for any of the many reasons we each have to be thankful. Sometimes gifts are not immediately obvious. The realizations and understandings can take years and may come after the one to whom we would like to express gratitiude to is no longer living.  Letters need not be sent to be beneficial to the one writing. Although we have found the letter format to be the most conducive to the healing process, the "letter" need not take the form of a letter-it may be other prose or poetry, or a drawing or photo. It certainly could be music, as well, but that's a bit harder to put in a book.

Please join us!

The tremendous response to our first book was a sign to us that our mission is speaking to many people.   We invite you to join those who have already contributed and write your own letter for healing.

You may decide to share the letter—either with the one to whom it is addressed or submit it for inclusion in one of our upcoming books.  If it has been written for catharsis, you may wish keep it private.  You might even decide to shred it, to burn it, to use it to line the bottom of the bird cage.
